KIDS TAKEOVER RETURNS AGAINST GRIMSBY!

14 January 2017

It's back! Apply for some very special roles right here...

Young fans aged between 7 and 12 are being given the chance to apply for a number of special roles here at Stevenage FC in our third Kids Takeover later this month.

After the success of our first two Kids Takeovers in 2015 (first one here, second one here), we're throwing open the doors once more against Grimsby Town on Saturday 28th January and we've some great match day roles up for grabs:

Mini Manager for the Day
Chairman for the Day
Junior Kit Man
Match Day PA Assistant
Match Day Media Assistant

Below you can find a description of all the roles and what you can expect, plus a link to our quick online application form.

Apply by midday on Friday 20th January and we’ll contact the winner’s parents shortly afterwards with the good news!

Mini Manager for the Day
Darren Sarll is well into his first season as manager and now you can experience life at the top. We're after one Boro mad youngster who knows their stuff about the team and the players and wants to experience a day as our mini Manager!

• You and upto three family members can park in one of our Directors spaces and enter through the Players and Officials Entrance
• Enjoy a pre-match tour of the dressing room where you can meet the manager, players and coaching staff
• Select your own Stevenage line-up for the game which we'll announce to the fans (we can't promise Darren will go with it, unfortunately...)
• Sit in the dugouts during the warm-up and watch your players get ready for the game
• Enjoy the game from the West Stand seats with up to three family members
• Take part in a short post-match interview, giving us your reaction on the game
• Enjoy your own column in the match day programme

Chairman for the Day
Phil Wallace is away on business in the USA so we’re giving one lucky youngster the opportunity to take his place for the day. We’re after one smartly dressed youngster who will be happy to sit in luxury for a game and watch from the best seats in the house!

• You and upto three family members can park in the chairman’s space and enter through the Director’s Entrance
• Enjoy pre-match hospitality in the board room and mingle with our club directors and other VIP guests
• Take your seats in the Directors Box for the game
• Enjoy refreshments at half-time and full-time
• Enjoy your own column in the match day programme

Notes: Smart dress code is required in our Board Room – no jeans are allowed.

Match Day PA Assistant
Accompany our regular PA announcer Jamie as he leads our pre-match and half-time entertainment including the Community Countdown Challenge and the STS Tyre Pro "Through the Tyre" Challenge. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, confident youngster who won’t mind speaking on the microphone (don’t worry, we can practice beforehand!)

• Help interview our mascots on the microphone
• Visit the PA box and discover how our team play the music
• Help read the teams out pre-match on the microphone
• Enjoy the game with up to three family members from seats in the West Stand

Notes:  Warm clothing and suitable footwear to be worn on the day. Tickets for up to three accompanying family members will be provided.

Junior Kit Man
You wouldn't believe the amount of work our kit man has to do on a match day. So much so that he's after a youngster who's willing to get stuck in and help out before the Grimsby game.

• Enjoy a look around the changing rooms and tunnel area
• Help put the players shirts and other kit up in the home dressing room, ready for the game
• Assist our kit man with a number of other little pre-match tasks in the dressing room, tunnel and out on the pitch.
• Enjoy the game with up to three family members

Notes:  Warm clothing and suitable footwear to be worn on the day. Tickets for up to three accompanying family members will be provided.

Match Day Media Assistant
TV, radio and written media attend each Stevenage FC game and now you can join them. We’re after a wannabe journalist to take a look behind-the-scenes and see what our media team get up to on a match day.

• Collect your press pass for the day which will allow you exclusive access around the stadium.
• Shadow our media team as they collect the line-ups from the two teams and help type up the official team sheets
• Watch the game from the press box and observe how the different journalists work
• Watch the manager and player interviews after the game. You can even have your own post-match interview in front of the camera if you like!

Notes: Tickets will be provided adjacent to the press box for up to 3 accompanying family or friends
