SHROOT PENS CONTRACT EXTENSION

13 December 2012

Stevenage Football Club announce that midfielder Robin Shroot has today signed a 2 year contract extension with the club, taking him to 2015.

The 24 year old, who has scored six times so far this season, has confirmed his commitment to the club by putting pen to paper on a new, improved deal.

Chairman Phil Wallace told the official website “We’re delighted that Robin has committed his immediate future to us. That was always our desire and I think it was Robin's too, but we had to agree terms that worked for both parties as our policies could not be compromised.

"Both sides have moved a little and I’m delighted that common ground has been found. We have every confidence in Robin's ability and he has put his trust in our ability to improve him further. Like every player, he wants to play at the highest level and his new-found ability to be in the right place at the right time and turn half chances into goals has been evident this season under Gary Smith.

"He’s a popular lad in the dressing room, so this is like a new signing for us. We’re all delighted he’s agreed to be part of our future and our ambitions.”
