Stevenage have signed 27 year old Andy Iro subject to international clearance.
The 6’5” central defender played in the MLS for Toronto last season but turned down the offer of a new contract in January of this year.
Born in Liverpool, Iro was drafted by MLS side Columbus Crew in 2008 and in his maiden season they were crowned winners of the MLS Supporters Shield and the MLS Cup. After three years and 78 appearances he moved to Toronto FC but after a single season in Ontario he turned down a contract extension and opted for a move back to English football.
