Thompson joined Stevenage ahead of the 2023/24 campaign with plenty of Championship experience under his belt. For Millwall, he was a regular throughout the 2019/20 and 2020/21 campaigns, and during his seven-and-a-half-year spell with the club, he scored eight Championship goals.
